My Story
Life’s Short - Make Every Day Count!
I believe in living with intention, finding the joy in every moment, and celebrating every win - big or small.
To me, life’s purpose is about using my God-given talent to help others, build meaningful connections, making some fun memories, and keeping growing both personally and professionally.
I make a conscious effort to surround myself with positive people and strive to live authentically, with gratitude and enthusiasm for every new day.

The early days...
My passion (and knack) for home organising began when I was just an awkward teen working at Woolworths as a 'check-out chick' in Sydney's Hills District. Over the incessant beeping of scanned groceries, I'd strike up conversation with customers, casually offering my services if they needed some help in their homes. To my surprise, many said yes, and before I knew it, my weekends were fully booked! I was hired for a variety of roles including house sitting, babysitting, hosting kids parties, waitressing at private cocktail parties in fancy mansions and 'tidying up' homes... I loved it!

Work Experience:

My three businesses...
Business #1:
DOT Home Organising
In 2018, I took a bold step, leaving the corporate world to follow my passion for home organisation full-time. That leap led to the creation of DOT Home Organising, a business that thrived during the COVID lockdowns.
Since then, I’ve had the privilege of working with over 400 clients, organising more than 1,000 rooms. I have loved spending time getting to know many incredible people, and making a positive impact in my community.
More and more people are recognising the value of investing in curating a home that is not only functional but also beautiful spaces to live, work, and relax in.
The overwhelming demand has inspired me to launch two additional organising-related businesses - keep reading to learn more!
Business #2:
'FIND AN ORGANISER' BUSINESS DIRECTORY
In 2020, demand for my services soared, and I needed to find workers to help tackle larger organising jobs. The problem? Finding other Professional Organisers to collaborate with was nearly impossible, and there was no existing support network or sense of community in the industry.
...where there's a problem, there's a solution!
Recognising this gap, I dedicated nearly two years to learn everything I could about creating a business platform for home-service professionals. I even took a part-time corporate role at a membership-based company to gain insight into head office operations.
In 2022, Find An Organiser was born - a dedicated Australian Business Directory connecting clients with their local Home Organiser. This platform simplifies the process of finding home service support and has become a vital resource for clients and business owners alike.
Take a moment to explore our team of dedicated Professional Organisers on the directory today!
Business #3:
The Organising Academy
The launch of the Find An Organiser Directory, along with our social media platforms, marked the official birth of the organising industry. Finally, business owners were connecting, collaborating, and investing in professional growth.
The Organising Academy is a vibrant networking community and business resource platform to empower aspiring and established Professional Organisers with the skills, knowledge, and confidence they need to excel in the industry.
Becoming a Member of The Organising Academy has become critical for long-term business success. It is a subscription based membership for business owners (that includes registration on the Find An Organiser Directory) and offers a library of comprehensive digital downloads, training webinars, mentoring, social events and more!
At The Organising Academy, it's my absolute pleasure to host Sip & Social networking events Australia-wide. It's a tough job but someone's gotta do it. (hehe)
Personal Life:
I recently celebrated my 40th birthday - a milestone that reflects two decades of life and work experience that have shaped me into the seasoned business owner I am today. Along this journey, I’ve embraced continuous learning, dedicating myself to professional growth and skill-building to serve my clients and community better.
I’m a childless IVF warrior and advocate, navigating the challenges of being childless-not-by-choice. These experiences have deepened my empathy and resilience, qualities that guide both my personal and professional life. However - I am the very proud and FUN Aunt to eight adorable nieces and nephews.
And now, I temporarily reside in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs while managing an exciting personal project - building my dream home in Sydney's Sutherland Shire. With completion expected in mid-2025 (fingers crossed!), it’s been a rewarding and inspiring process to bring this vision to life.
That’s a bit about me! I’d love to hear your story and learn how I can help you create the organised, joyful space you’ve always dreamed of.
Warmly,
Jem x
